Prayer and Reflection of the Week: Summer

Lord Jesus,

Thank you for summer and all the joy it can bring.

Help us to relax our bodies, restore our minds and refresh our soul.

As we enjoy this beautiful season with family and friends, be with us God in it all.

May your love, goodness, hope, joy and peace be shared with all whom we come across.

We pray for those who don’t have holidays to look forward to, for those whose lives are difficult and those who are working- bless them all Lord.

For every blessing, every breath, every season, thank you God.

Amen.

Prayer and Reflection of the Week: Forgiveness

Dear God,

Help us this day to forgive all those who have wronged us.
Thank you for your forgiveness, your mercy and your grace each and every day.
Give us the strength to say sorry and make amends.
Make today a day of healing and restoration.

In your holy name

Amen.

Prayer and Reflection of the Week: Mistakes

Dear God,

When I make mistakes, help me learn from them.
When I do something wrong, help me to feel remorse, apologise and make amends.
When I fail at life’s challenges, help me to persevere, to believe in myself and to overcome.
When others struggle, may I be an encouragement, a source of support and a shoulder to lean on.

When I feel dismayed and down, Lord be my strength and light.

Amen.

Prayer and Reflection of the Week: Peace

Dear God,
We pray for peace throughout the world, particularly in those areas of our planet where there is war, poverty and suffering.
We pray for refugees who have no place or country to call their own. Come alongside them, Lord, and give them your peace, security and comfort.
We pray for the lost, the oppressed, the lonely and the hurting. Lord, we ask that someone might see their need, provide support and bring them peace.
Give us your peace today, God and help us to become people who champion peace on Earth.
Amen.

‘Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called the sons and daughters of God.’
Matt 5 v 9

Prayer and Reflection of the Week: Justice

Lord Jesus,
Help me to treat every human with dignity, respect and love.
Help me speak up for the poor, the weak, the lonely and the oppressed.
Help me be merciful to everyone all of my life and forgive freely when I am wronged.
For teaching us and showing us how to treat others and how to live, thank you God.
Amen.

And what does the LORD require of you?
To act justly and to love mercy
and to walk humbly with your God.'
