Mrs Clare Cardnell
I am the current Chair of Trustees and have served on the governing body since 2007. I oversaw the transfer to Academy status in 2011 and the revision of the articles in 2022. I have led the school through three Ofsted inspections, including the most recent inspection in June 2022, which again assessed the school as ‘Good.’
I have previously taught Maths in Warwickshire and Lancashire which gives me a good understanding of life within a school. I have 3 sons who have all attended Selwood and other Frome schools, and having lived in Frome for over 30 years know the area very well.
I firmly believe in the value of Education for all pupils, respecting the individual needs of every child attending Selwood Academy and the Methodist principle to do all the good you can.
