Religion and Philosophy at Selwood allows pupils to explore the life’s big questions. They will have the opportunity to consider and compare their own beliefs with some of the world’s largest religions. Under the new curriculum there is a greater focus on Judaism, Christianity, Islam and Humanism so that they are well prepared for the new GCSE format, but they will be offered the chance to investigate other smaller religions as well. It has become an exciting and very relevant subject in which pupils are given the opportunity to find out about current world issues and religious responses to these important matters such as climate change. There are also many new links with other subjects such as PASHE, Drama, History, Maths and English making it a fun and engaging subject for all.
