Religion and Philosophy  Subject Vision

We are philosophers

Engagement            Empathy             Enjoyment

Engagement - Religion and Philosophy at Selwood is a subject that engages pupils by asking big questions, giving them a place to explore their own ideas, listen to others and learn to disagree  respectfully.

Empathy - Each pupil is then provided with the chance to explore and learn about a variety of religions and world-views, including Humanism. Respect for diversity of belief is central to our approach and is recognised that this fosters empathy, respect and a stronger sense of community in a culturally diverse society.

Enjoyment - A range of creative approaches are used to deliver all aspects of the curriculum with the aim of fostering a joy for learning.
