Admissions Procedure for Selwood Academy
Admission arrangements of all mainstream academies & free schools must comply with the School admissions code. Places will be allocated in line with the Academy policy.
Appeals – Applicants whose school place application is turned down have the legal right to appeal against the decision to refuse admission. If the school is oversubscribed the criteria detailed in the Academy’s Admission Policy will be used to decide which children have priority for places.

Arrange tour of School.
The Trust Board authorises the Headteacher to act on its behalf with regard to in-year school admissions.
A consultation on Selwood Academy’s 2022/23 admission arrangements was recently carried out by Somerset County Council on the Academy’s behalf. Trustees approved the arrangements on 4th February 2021.
The following changes were made:
- Inclusion of children of staff into criteria 2 in the over-subscription criteria.
- Removal of the faith criteria in order to make the over-subscription criteria less restrictive.
