We have made Selwood History with the first ever Selwood Ski Trip to Andalo Italy. 44 Year 7 & 8 Students and 6 members of staff left Frome on Saturday 16th February on a 22 hour bus journey through France, Germany, Austria and arrived in Italy on Sunday 17th February. The students were upgraded to 'Hotel Continental' which was situated on the slopes, opposite the beginners run and gondola to the top of the mountain. With three beginners groups and one intermediate group the week started out with lots of awards for Wipe-out’s, Eddie the Eagle and slips of the day. As the week progressed the students became more confident and headed further up the mountain to experience the spectacular views. Selwood Skiers also experienced a variety of après ski in the beautiful town of Andalo with a pizza night, hot chocolate and Italian ice cream afternoon. The staff also enjoyed the trip with a 'Onesie Wednesday' so the students could identify them on the slopes. All the staff are very proud of all the students and what they achieved during the week on the slopes. They were all outstanding ambassadors for Selwood Academy and are now officially Selwood Skiers. At the end of the week each student was awarded a medal and certificate for their skiing ability. Well Done Selwood Skiers.
