World Book Day Celebrations - Thursday 5th March

Selwood will be celebrating World Book Day on Thursday 5th March. Students are invited to take part by dressing up as a character from their favourite book and bringing a copy of the book they are representing.

Creative Book Competition

We will also be running a World Book Day competition. Students are encouraged to submit a creative representation of their favourite book. This could include:

  • A sketchbook featuring a favourite character or scene

  • A shoebox diorama representing the book

  • A vegetable carved into the shape of a favourite character

All entries should be brought to the library at the start of the day on Thursday 5th March. They will be judged by a student panel at lunchtime on the same day.

Pop-Up Book Event - Wednesday 4th March

In addition, we are partnering with Winstone's Hunting Raven to host a pop-up book event on Wednesday 4th March. The event will take place in the library at lunchtime, where students will have the opportunity to browse and purchase from a selection of popular titles.

Please note that this will be an in-person sales event rather than through ParentPay. Students wishing to purchase a book should bring money with them. Book vouchers may also be used towards selected titles.
